OBX Safe Re-Opening Guide

Vacation Rental Procedures

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our guests during your visit to the Outer Banks.  Although we have always been committed to a high standard for cleanliness, we are now putting in extra time and effort to address the coronavirus issues.  That being said, it is possible that you could contract Covid-19 while staying in our homes or while vacationing on the Outer Banks. We cannot guarantee that there will be no risk of infection.

Housekeeping

We will be using CDC recommended and EPA approved cleaning products as a part of our new cleaning procedure.  We have recommended to our owners that they place comforters and other bedding in the closet in that bedroom.  If you do not wish to use the items provided, we encourage you to bring your own.  All ordered linens will remain in packaging for sanitary purposes.

We have also recommended that homeowners remove or put away games, DVD’s, game consoles, books etc.  If they are still there, we recommend that you disinfect before use.  In addition, it is suggested that you wash any and all kitchenware prior to use.  When possible, it would be best practice to use disposable products.  We will continue to monitor the most current guidelines established by the CDC.

Checking In and Out

Until further notice there will be no Early Check-ins or Late Check-outs during inseason weekly rentals. All other time will be subject to our availability.

We will be strictly adhering to our check out time of 10am and check in time of 4pm.  Due to increased cleaning and sanitary precautions we will require as much time as possible to prepare for each guests’ arrival.  Please schedule your travel times accordingly.

Maintenance

Maintenance requests will be addressed based on severity of the issue.  Only “urgent” issues will be addressed during a guests’ stay.  During these cases, all tenants must vacate the property before a maintenance tech will enter.  Appointments will be paramount in these situations.

Staying in Touch

Our offices will be staffed for those guests who need to pick up keys.  We ask that you closely adhere to the social distancing guidelines while at our offices.  If the need arises that you must enter the office, we ask that the leaseholder be the representative of the group allowed to enter.  All visitors to our office are requested to wear masks.

In order to not waste your time, we recommend that you call or email in advance for any issues or questions so that we can either address the situation or schedule an appointment for coming in.
