Outer Banks Rental Guest FAQ

What time is check-in and checkout?

Check-in time is at 4PM and check-out time is 10AM. Keys must be returned to the office by this time.

Where do I go to pick up my keys?

You will pick up the keys to your rental home at one of our two offices:

  • Guests who stay in Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, Colington, Nags Head, South Nags Head, and Manteo rentals will check in at the Nags Head office
  • Guests who stay in Southern Shores, Duck and Corolla rentals will check in at the Duck office.

How do I know if a home allows pets?

Homes that allow pets will say Pets-Friendly in the list of amenities.

What is the fee for bringing a pet?

For Pet-Friendly rentals, guests may bring up to two adult dogs for a fee of $150 plus tax. This fee is non-refundable, and covers the cost of the post-departure spray and additional cleaning required for pets.

What if I am renting a pet friendly home, but I'm not bringing a pet?

On your lease agreement, enter “0” for the number of pets you are bringing, and our accounting department will remove this fee.

How do I find a home with a heated pool?

Pools that have the ability to be heated will specify this in the amenities, along with the fee that is charged to heat the pool. If nothing is listed about heating the pool, it cannot be heated.

Are linens provided?

The majority of our rentals do not include linens, but we offer an optional package that will be automatically added to your lease agreement. You can remove this fee by declining this option on your lease. Rentals in the Carolina Club Linen Program include linens and beds made at no additional cost for full week reservations. Why should I get travel interruption insurance?

The travel interruption policy we offer with your reservation is the only way you can guarantee that the rent you’ve paid will be covered in the case of a serious medical issue, family emergency, job loss, or hurricane evacuation. Only insurance will reimburse lost funds due to these circumstances. We encourage all guests to review the full Policy Coverage Information, as well as our Cancellation Policy, before declining the travelers insurance.
