Our Building Process
The first thing you will notice on our job sites is that our professionals take pride in their work. We constantly seek new ways to improve our methods of construction.
Whether it's implementing a new method to secure a roof, creating improved waterproofing materials, or finding a better way to strengthen a home's rafters, we are committed to developing innovative construction techniques.
Not only does Stan White Realty & Construction, Inc. have a commitment to innovation, we also have a reputation for exceeding industry standards. A Stan White home is built to a consistent standard of excellence that is recognized by industry peers. Pound for pound, we put more materials and effort into the structural integrity of your home.
Our projects include year-round residences, upscale rental homes, medical facilities, office complexes, shopping centers, restaurants and more. All are fully custom to meet your needs and achieve your dreams.
Our weatherproofing system ensures that wind driven rain does not enter your home. Your Legacy Home is constructed using the very best materials and newest techniques engineered for maximum weather resistance.
It's the hidden details, quality materials and accommodation of the homeowner's needs that make Stan White homes special.
The following are some examples of what sets us apart:
-
For example, we use plywood for walls and roof sheathing instead of OSB or "chip board." And in addition to nailing, every piece is also glued.
-
We use plywood gussets to give additional strength between the ceiling joist and rafters. This technique aids in the prevention of blowouts due to a drop in barometric pressure and racking of the structure due to violent winds. The majority of builders do not use this construction method and it is not required by code.
-
We use a 2"x 6" stud cut into the top of the rafter and run it the length of the eave. A coil strap is then nailed over the 2"x 6" connected to the rafter, making the roof and the exterior walls one continuous connection. This technique aids in the prevention of uplift caused by winds exceeding the weight of the building.
-
We use only plywood for exterior walls and roof sheathing. Each and every piece is glued and nailed at all connections. We nail coil strapping over the glued plywood connecting the exterior walls from one level to the next level. This method aids in the prevention of racking, blowouts and collapse under harsh weather.
-
We use salt-treated plywood, weather watch and flashing for weatherproofing.
-
We also use blocking underneath the decks to protect the integrity of the deck flashing and to increase structural support.
Most builders do not use any of these additional features.
Home Site Evaluation
Your Legacy Home is designed to meet your goals, budget and needs. The first step in building your legacy is an evaluation of your home site. This careful evaluation ensures that we design a home that will best fit the land it will occupy.
Our plans will provide you the perfect view from the windows and porches and include the best protection from wind and weather.
Your site will be carefully evaluated to determine the best location of covered porches and decks to take full advantage of the sun's orientation.
It's the small details in a Stan White Realty & Construction home that make a big difference.
